Since my birthday last month, I have gone off the wagon. I have given in to the temptations presented to me when I go out with my friends and the various Leo birthday parties. It has been hilarious. I only weighed myself once this whole month, and I still lost two pounds despite my best efforts to gain. I know how easy it is for people with weight problems to cut themselves some slack, and then let it turn into a slippery slope back to fat. Here’s where I turn positive and celebrate my accomplishments:
The one thing that has remained constant is green juice. I still make green lemonade almost every morning, and since Gwen comes over to make it with me, we’ve added cucumber and oranges (sometimes) to the mix. It’s an AMAZING start to my day and I doubt I’ll ever stop making fresh juice. The Omega 8004 is a brilliant machine.
I have stayed away from sodas and most sugary foods. When we do go out, I usually order a salad or some kind of meal high in fruits/veggies. My acanthosis nigricans is gone except for the tiniest spot on my chest, and my elbows have remained smooth. My breakouts are minimal, and my allergic reactions are practically nonexistent.
I still haven’t made going to the gym a priority, but I bought roller skates and am having a blast relearning. I plan on going to the rink (at least) every weekend, and I want to find a place where I can skate with minimal battle damage when I fall. lol
I bought an Omega 8004! I made a lemon, apple, celery, and spinach juice for me and a grape juice for Timmy. It’s super quiet, has incredible yield, and easy to clean. The chute is smaller than my mom’s juicer, but the benefits outweigh that bit. I’m so excited! I’m going to drink nothing but juice all weekend.
Srsly. I prepared RAWvolution’s Famous Onion Bread from Matt Amsden’s book, and I thought my eyes were going to squish out of their sockets. Ow. I didn’t realize that I had only one teflex sheet, so I clumped the remaining batter carefully onto a mesh sheet. ugh. I won’t make it again unless it is amazing.
I also made Ani Phyo’s (surprise!) Asian Scramble with her Love the Chicks Pâté. I didn’t have bok choy, so I put it on top of lettuce. It was very yummy and filling! I have enough for lunch tomorrow and Friday.
I really wanted to make more mylk, but I’m sleepy now. Goodnight.
mmmm mylx!
I made another Ani Phyo recipe tonight. I should try all of her recipes one by one and start a blog called Cyndi & AniPhyo. <3 It’s everything I wanted it to be and more. iRiquísimo!
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1/2 cup pitted dates
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon cacao powder
- 5 cups water
I also dehydrated some buckwheat groats and put them in a baggy. I’m going to turn those bishes into some nomnom cereal.
My breakfast for the past week has been a tall glass of juice containing:
- 1/2 head of romaine
- 1/2 a large bunch of kale
- 1 apple
- 1 lemon
Natalia Rose recommends a little bit of stevia or ginger, but I like it just like this.
